Job Description: 

Summary:

This role coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules and is responsible for day-to-day production scheduling to meet customer requirements while minimizing manufacturing and inventory investment. 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with scheduling utilizing materials requirement planning (MRP) demand to execute planned work orders. Utilize released and created work orders to ensure compliance with the planned demand to support sales and inventory levels, while effectively utilizing available capacity.
  • Assist with analyzing and creating operating schedules that support maximizing machine and labor efficiency and efficiently utilize material and storage space resources while meeting customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain schedules for sequencing and lead time for each assigned product line to successfully meet shipping dates according to orders.
  • Prepare scheduling reports as required. Expedite operations that delay schedules and modify scheduling demands to meet changes such as back orders or un-forecasted customer demand.
  • Communicate daily with internal customers as to status of all open orders/jobs of assigned product lines, informing internal stakeholders of exceptions impacting customer on time delivery shipments.
  • Assist senior level planners with providing management visibility over work-in-progress, material availability, and potential production issues, ensuring that staff, equipment, tools, materials and services are available as needed.
  • Make or recommend revision to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met, includes preparing back-up schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field.  May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • <2 years of relevant planning and/or logistics experience.
  • Experience using production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
