Job Description: 

Summary:

Senior Accountant provides accounting and financial planning and analysis support.  Position is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and providing strategic financial guidance. This role will analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend improving financial performance. This role will also oversee month-end and year-end close processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support for cost rolls on new items and setting annual standard costs.
  • Prepares daily/weekly sales and variance reports for management.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes - prepares reconciliations, commentary, and journal entries for various transactions and ensures reviews comply with regulatory documentation and approval requirements.
  • Assists finance team in preparing the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Provides assistance with physical inventory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to internal stakeholders, assisting with budget preparation, cost analysis, and financial planning.
  • Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 4+ years accounting experience.
  • Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial analysis/reporting, budgeting and forecasting standards
  • Proficient in using financial management software, spreadsheets, and other accounting tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, cost accounting and inventory management..
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Experience with manufacturing accounting.
