Summary:

The Director, Business Unit Leader is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the assigned business unit. This leader is accountable for the business unit profit and loss (P&L) and responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth, market share expansion, operational performance, and profitability.

This leader will operate at the center of the business, connecting market insight, product strategy, operations, and customer engagement to ensure the business delivers on its growth and profitability objectives.

 

Business Unit Profile – Radio Frequency Solutions (RFS)

The Radio Frequency Solutions (RFS) Business Unit provides advanced material solutions for high-frequency and high-performance electronics applications. Serving a diverse global customer base, the business unit includes a portfolio of RF laminates, prepregs, bondplys, specialty adhesives, and related technologies. The Business Unit Leader is accountable for the strategic direction, operational performance, growth, and profitability of the business unit.

The Director Business Unit Leader will be responsible for establishing and executing the strategic direction of the RFS Business Unit, driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across the business.

Essential Functions:

Drive Business Growth and Performance

  • Accountable for business unit financial performance including achievement of revenue, margin, cash flow, and profitability objectives.
  • Lead development of annual operating plans and forecasts.
  • Lead execution of revenue and margin growth strategies.
  • Prioritize business unit resources and decisions to maximize long-term growth and profitability.
  • Monitor business performance and drive corrective actions as needed.

Shape and Execute Market Strategy

  • Partner with senior leadership to refine strategic direction and growth priorities.
  • Lead development of plans for key segments, including market analysis, pricing, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Maintain deep understanding of customers, competitors, and market dynamics.

Lead Cross-Functional Execution

  • Align and influence cross-functional teams across sales, product management, engineering, and operations.
  • Drive disciplined execution of key initiatives, including product launches and growth programs.
  • Ensure coordination and accountability across the value chain.

Drive Innovation and Portfolio Focus

  • Support prioritization and advancement of innovation and product development efforts.
  • Help balance near-term execution with longer-term growth opportunities.
  • Partner with technical and commercial leaders to evaluate and advance high-impact initiatives.

Strengthen Customer and Internal Partnerships

  • Build strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Establish credibility with internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for business unit priorities.

Scope and Impact:

  • Accountable for achievement of business unit performance including revenue growth, profitability, and strategic objectives.
  • Serves as the business leader accountable for financial performance, including full P&L ownership.
  • Leads business planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and performance management processes.
  • Drives results through a global, matrixed organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 15–20+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial, electronics, or related B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated success driving growth, commercial performance, and business transformation.
  • Experience leading across multiple functions, including product management, sales, and operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including ability to analyze performance and drive improvement actions.
  • Global business experience with exposure to Asia and Europe preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong customer engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
