Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is part of the Research and Development group and is critical to bridge the gap between conceptual design and market-ready products. The individual will perform a broad range of administrative and support duties to support various product development teams. The candidate will collaborate with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products to life efficiently and cost-effectively. This position is responsible for ensuring that new product development records meet quality systems requirements, both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, as well as appropriate regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Support R&D teams across the business to support strategic objectives for assigned product lines.
  • Communicate with Underwriters Laboratories to ensure proper certification of materials.
  • Complete export control reviews for all new product offerings
  • Stay apprise of all new quality system requirements, both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and implement changes into the Product Development Process.
  • Coach teams on required quality system deliverables for the Product Development Process. These include, but are not limited to, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, Prototype Programs.
  • Maintain records in appropriate databases.
  • Completes data integrity forms to ensure accurate new part number creation.
  • Utilizes common R&D management processes and participates in process improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related technical field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in Research and Development, Quality, or New Product Development.
  • Experience in an IATF 16949 strongly preferred.
  • Experience with UL preferred.
  • Very high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Willingness to learn pertinent regulatory requirements to support a global operation footprint.
  • This position requires ITAR compliance.
