Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for leading efforts to research, design, develop, implement, and document effective server components and systems to meet customer and strategic goals. Provides support and education related for aforementioned components and systems to junior staff members and customer support team. Works with complex systems and provides translations to business users.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, and document server systems that enhance user expertise with regards to IT applications and systems.  Conduct independent research and study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve functions and efficiencies. Use a structured process to define, design, and implement solutions.  Implement standards and provide training to IT staff and customers.
  • Work with customers and IT team members to analyze and solve business problems using IT server solutions (on prem and cloud). Maintain project plans, pro-actively identify potential issues and implement risk mitigation measures. Maintain regular and appropriate communications to managers, technical staff, and business unit stakeholders.
  • Lead and contribute to cross functional project teams that address customer initiatives or IT infrastructure needs. Reviews and assigns the dissemination of training to customers and IT staff.
  • Provide support and mentoring to junior staff members who cannot find resolutions to open issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS, May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 7+ years' experience in multiple IT areas (e.g., Windows, Linux, VMware, Cloud, Backup Monitoring)
  • Microsoft Azure Certification(s) Expert, Microsoft Server framework (on premise). ADFS, VMware administration
  • Technical writing for internal/external department use, In-depth process documentation and review
  • Travel:  Up to 0-5%
