Summary:

Der General Ledger Accountant ist für die Führung des Hauptbuches verantwortlich, insbesondere für die Tagesbuchhaltung und die Analyse sowie Dokumentation von Finanzdaten. Der Hauptbuchhalter verwaltet die Anlagenbuchhaltung und stellt sicher, dass Bilanzen richtig erstellt werden. Er unterstützt die jährliche Budget-  und Forecast-Planung.

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, particularly for daily accounting and the analysis and documentation of financial data. The General Ledger Accountant manages fixed asset accounting and ensures that financial statements are prepared accurately. The GL Accountant supports annual budget and forecast planning. 

Essential Functions:

  • Buchung und Abstimmung von Banken und Kasse
  • Erfassung und Dokumentation von Sachbuchungen
  • Erstellung von Kontenabstimmungen
  • Saldenabstimmungen mit verbundenen Unternehmen
  • Erstellung der Monats-, Quartals- und Jahresabschlüsse nach US-GAAP und HGB
  • Unterstützung beim Konzern-Reporting in englischer Sprache
  • Kommunikation mit internen und externen Prüfern wie Steuer-, Wirtschafts- und SOX-Prüfer
  • Optimierung von Prozessen, Unterstützung von Sonderprojekten im Finance Umfeld (z. B. Concur, ESKER)
  • Anlagenbuchhaltung (Zugänge, Abgänge, Berichtswesen, Inventur u.a.)
  • Ansprechpartner für Fragen des Anlagenvermögens sowohl intern als auch extern
  • Erstellung und zeitgerechtes Absenden von Umsatzsteuer-Voranmeldungen, zusammenfassender Meldungen sowie statistischer Meldungen
  • Allgemeine Buchhaltungstätigkeiten
  • Vertretungsweise Prüfung und Verbuchung von Reisekosten-abrechnungen sowie Eingangsrechnungen
  • Vertretungsweise Erstellen von Zahlläufen
  • Kommunikation mit unserem Shared-Service Center in Belgien

  • Posting and reconciliation of bank and cash accounts
  • Recording and documenting general ledger entries
  • Preparing account reconciliations
  • Balance reconciliations with affiliated companies
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US-GAAP and HGB
  • Supporting group reporting
  • Communication with internal and external auditors, such as tax, financial, and SOX auditors
  • Process optimization, support for special projects in the finance environment (e.g., Concur, ESKER)
  • Fixed asset accounting (acquisitions, disposals, reporting, inventory, etc.)
  • Point of contact for questions regarding fixed assets, both internally and externally
  • Preparation and timely submission of advance VAT returns, summary reports, and statistical reports
  • General accounting tasks
  • Occasional review and posting of travel expense reports and incoming invoices
  • Occasional preparation of payment runs
  • Communication with our Shared Service Center in Belgium

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor-Abschluss in Rechnungswesen oder abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung als Industriekauffrau/mann, Steuerfachangestellte/r oder vergleichbare Ausbildung mit abgeschlossener Weiterbildung als Fach-/Betriebswirt
  • mind. 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Rechnungswesen
  • Erfahrung mit Monats-, Quartals-, und Jahresabschlüssen
  • Gute Kenntnisse in MS-Office sowie in SAP (insbesondere FI)
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
  • Erfahrung in einem internationalen Unternehmen wünschenswert
  • Hohes Maß an Verantwortungsbewusstsein, Eigeninitiative und Flexibilität

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or completed vocational training as an industrial clerk, tax clerk, or comparable training with additional certification as a business administrator
  • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting
  • Experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP (especially FI)
  • Full work proficiency in German and English
  • Experience in an international company is desirable
  • High level of responsibility, initiative, and flexibility
