This role will support capital procurement sourcing initiatives for equipment, construction, and engineering services for global projects including supporting the sourcing, negotiation and contracting in support of the annual capital investment plan for several BU's. Maintains relationships with suppliers for materials/services/equipment to include negotiation and enforcement of contract while maintaining high performance standards of delivery, quality expectations, and corrective actions. Participate in cross functional project teams.

This position is accountable for the sourcing, procurement and contract negotiation for capital equipment, component parts, raw materials and key services & supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Negotiate and manage contracts for key capital projects. Collaborate with engineering, project management, operations and other internal stakeholders. Determine requirements through analysis, develop sources and ensure uninterrupted flow of materials while working within the guidelines of inventory, quality and cost. Responsible for supplier selection, bidding process for capital equipment and services. Will work with project managers to develop procurement plan for capital projects.
  • Manage supplier relationships and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evaluate and report performance. Ensure continuity of services by working with high quality suppliers and managing supplier performance. Development and maintenance of positive, productive, proactive relationships with a wide variety of suppliers, contractors and company personnel.
  • Provide innovative/alternative sourcing and supplier options/recommendations to meet financial budget requirements and avoid single source risk. Responsible for meeting Divisional and Corporate cost reduction goals, being aware of non-price considerations.
  • Partner with Global Strategic Operations to effectively develop the supplier base and manage supply chain partner performance and relationships. Conduct research on market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance future negotiations.
  • Effectively communicates problems, issues and related supplier, commodity and market issues to Senior Management and other leadership as appropriate. Participate in improvement of procurement policy and guidelines. Work to educate internal customers on these policies and guidelines.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 5+ years of experience in sourcing, negotiating and purchasing in a manufacturing environment supporting Operations, Engineering, Quality R&D Activities and Capital Equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO and IATF systems is an asset.
  • Excellent written, computer and communication skills in Dutch & English.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Strategic Sourcing
  • Proficiency in key purchasing processes, management of contracts, etc.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal, customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with large purchase and complex technical specifications.
  • Proven track record of implementing/executing complex projects.
