Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for analyzing historical sales data, forecasts, market trends, and customer insights to generate accurate demand plans for the business. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, in managing the aggregation of the demand planning processes across items, product lines, and regions producing a rolling unconstrained and consensus demand plan.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for supporting the execution of the demand planning process within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with cross-functional teams to obtain and ensure that current, accurate information, and prudent business intelligence & assumptions are used for demand forecasts which end up in demand plans that represent the business needs.
  • Lead respective regional monthly forecast review meetings, reviewing sales forecasts, new programs, as well as risk and opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results to drive its accuracy improvements.
  • Initiate appropriate communications with internal stakeholders regarding forecast changes. Align with cross-functional stakeholders on demand handoff to supply chain planning and operations.
  • Understand and communicate customer demand/order-pattern characteristics based on changes in forecast and market trends to help the supply planning and operations team adjust inventory targets and build plan strategies.
  • Gather, manipulate, and interpret data to create meaningful and accurate reports.
  • Support and maintain a high quality of data and specifics for gap-closing targets for planning parameters—item ABC, customer ABC, forecast model parameters, etc.  
  • Use and maintain all forecasts within the forecasting system,as well as support and train other users in the process and the tools used for forecasting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.  May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of demand planning experience.
  • Experience data mining and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of key demand planning concepts, methods and metrics, and forecasting.
