Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day engineering support for manufacturing operations, as well as assists implementing yield, process and product improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with others to maintain safety, product quality/yield and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.
  • Assists with optimization of manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments and procedural changes.
  • Assists with resolution of customer technical/quality issues and provide special products.
  • Participates on cross-functional teams to resolve problems, develop, and start up new products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Development of innovative processes for the production of AMB substrates and DCB substrates as well as maintenance and further development of existing processes
  • Focus: wet chemical processes (chemical Ag, Ni, Au coating, cleaning, surface characterization, solderability and wire bondability of substrates, solder resist, qualification of packaging)
  • Analysis of existing manufacturing processes and identification of innovation ideas
  • Ensuring / maintaining process stability in ongoing production
  • Support in procurement of production facilities
  • Accompaniment and support of R&D projects from the feasibility phase through the sample phase to suitability for series production
  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of tests and transfer of the results to production including implementation of process capabilities
  • Implementation of internal projects in cooperation with product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing and sales
  • Ensuring and continuously improving product quality, reducing costs and rejects
