Job Description: 

Summary:

NPI Team is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior product engineer. This position will be responsible for designing product, working with customer, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful launch of new products.  The candidate shall be familiar with at least one of high polymer material (preferably rubber) or molding technologies (preferably plastic or rubber mold) and have a certain understanding with another.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand the customer request which send by salesperson or customers.  10%
  • Discuss with customer or salesperson on the design idea and get aligned with customer on the final drawing spec. 25%
  • Leading or participating the tooling and process design. 25%
  • Proto Samples follow up and assure the quality meet customer spec and transfer the part to process team for mass production after proto samples approved by customers. 20%
  • Project coordination and tracking. 5%
  • Work out the technical competitive analysis and drive for the product improvement. 5%
  • Other issue assigned by supervisor.  10%

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in polymer material or mechanical engineering or related field
  • 5+years’ experience in product/tooling design or related roles within a manufacturing environment
  • Fluent oral and written English
  • Proficiency in CAD software for 2D and 3D designs
  • Deep understanding of plastic/rubber materials, injection/transfer/compress molding processes and tooling design
  • Experience in working with customers in an international environment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the NPI PDP process and increase efficiency
  • Strong Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of quality management (APQP, PPAP, DFM, FMEA, MSA, SPC, CP)
  • Proficiency in UG/SolidWorks design soft
  • Some experiences in Polyurethane/Silicone/FKM manufacturing process
  • Proven track record of successfully Leading a new project from concept to mass production
  • International company background
  • PMP or other 3rd party certifications are a plus
