Job Description: 

Summary:

This role provides engineering support for the Research and Development Team. The Pilot Line Engineering Assistant will run experiments on the Pilot Line and perform material testing in the R&D lab in Rogers, CT and support engineering trials at the Narragansett, RI location as needed. 

Essential Functions:

  • Execute experimental plans to support technology and product development projects.
  • Perform material characterization testing (such as DSC, TGA, TMA, FT-IR, SEM and Tensile).
  • Follow procedures and best practices while operating equipment and handling chemicals to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Clearly and concisely document and communicate trial results and observations.
  • Lift up to 15lbs consistently, climb ladders, and move 50-gallon drums and 50-lb containers of material with assistance (operating a lift cart / pallet jack).
  • Improve testing procedures and document best practices. Perform training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
  • 2+ years of engineering or technical experience.
  • Hands-on material testing experience.
  • Computer and Analysis experience and skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to work at both Rogers, CT and Narragansett, RI locations.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently. 
  • Production, Pilot Line or Lab experience a plus.
