Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for implementing sales strategies to meet company objectives as well as managing a team of sales professionals to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded, delivering regional sales targets as well as develop & lead the execution of regional growth strategy consistent with business unit strategic plan and priorities in the annual operating plan. 

This individual will be responsible for:  

  • Developing sales strategy to achieve growth.
  • Delivering regional sales target in the annual operating plan.
  • Leading sales and application engineers to establish a solid opportunity pipeline to meet longer term growth objectives.
  • Securing design wins on must-win projects defined annually with Marketing & General Manager.
  • Developing and managing higher level customer relationships.
  • Meeting KPIs including customer satisfaction, forecast accuracy, pricing actions and contractual obligation.
  • Effectively working together and influencing across functions (marketing, operations)
  • Developing and retaining sales talent.

Essential Functions:

Develop and successfully execute product value sales strategy in line with the business unit growth strategy by:

  • Developing full understanding of customers and markets, customers’ business, buying decision and criteria and competitors’ advantages and disadvantages
  • Expanding business into new markets and customers that are aligned with business unit strategic focus. 
  • Delivering annual sales targets (volume & profit). 
  • Achieve customer loyalty targets.
  • Building relationships with senior management at premium customers.
  • Networking across power electronics industry.

 

Ensure optimal planning and forecasting by:

  • Driving realistic and timely sales forecasting.
  • Ensuring forecast accuracy & support an effective S&OP process.
  • Reinforcing use of Salesforce.com, demand planning systems, teams and processes

 

Standardize and define processes within or cross departmentally to facilitate smooth and swift operations. Optimize or build new procedures as needed to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. 

 

Manage the department budget, resources, time, and tasks to ensure the completion of milestones on time, with an eye for the critical success factors and return on investment. Make use of both internal and external resources efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.  May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 6+ years’ experience in leading sales processes and engineered sales to accelerate growth for new products/designs.
  • Demonstrated success in Business-to-Business environment leading the effort to develop new sales
  • Track record of sales growth and successful new product launches/market penetration
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing individual to convey message to customers and to engage cross departmental teams.
  • Experience with forecasting and demand planning processes
  • Demonstrated effective use of process improvement toolsets into technical/engineering environment (could include lean, six sigma, design experiments, root cause analysis, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency and working knowledge of MS Office and CRM-system like Salesforce.com.
  • Up to 50% travel required.
