Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for leading the company's product compliance strategy and ensuring that products comply with international, federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of compliance programs and serving as the critical point of contact for regulatory agencies and business partners regarding product compliance matters.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement global compliance strategies and programs to ensure all products adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in regulations and standards that could affect the company's products and advise on necessary actions.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, legal, and marketing to ensure a cohesive approach to product compliance.
  • Conduct or oversee product compliance assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as compliance manuals, procedures, and reports, to support compliance activities.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and certification bodies, managing submissions, inquiries, and negotiations related to product compliance.
  • Provide expert advice and support on compliance-related issues and participate in strategic planning.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry associations and participate in relevant forums to stay abreast with compliance trends and best practices.
  • Manage the budget for the compliance department, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support compliance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as engineering, law, business administration, or a scientific discipline. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing compliance programs.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the company's products.
  • Proficiency in compliance software and databases.
  • Travel:  Up to 25%
