Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is focused on driving the technical development and execution of advanced materials and coating processes within long-term product development programs. The position requires a deep understanding of material behavior, coating technologies, and manufacturing constraints. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role will plan and conduct experiments, develop process documentation, support scale-up efforts, and ensure technical progress aligns with project goals. A strong detail orientation and hands-on problem-solving approach are critical for success.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the engineering execution of development projects, with a focus on materials, coatings, and process integration.
  • Develop and execute experimental plans to evaluate coating performance, process parameters, and material compatibility.
  • Apply sound engineering principles to assess feasibility, optimize formulations, and troubleshoot issues in coating application and curing processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical specifications and process guidelines.
  • Analyze test data and material behavior to drive decisions and improve product design and manufacturability.
  • Document experimental results, coating formulations, application procedures, and process conditions in detail for internal knowledge capture and technology transfer.
  • Support process scale-up from lab to pilot or production scale, identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Maintain technical tracking tools and contribute to progress reports; support limited project management tasks as needed for cross-functional coordination.
  • Experience with program management, budgeting, planning, tracking, organization and attention to detail is a plus
  • Assist in the planning and execution of moderate to large technical and product development projects
  • Other engineering duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Material Science or related field.  May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of Engineering experience
  • Experience with material behavior and coating processes
