Summary:

This position is responsible for Industrial Hygiene activities in the USA and Europe as well as support of the Asia program. The role of the Sr. Industrial Hygienist is to ensure that all Occupational Health (IH) related programs for Rogers facilities in the USA, Europe and Asia are implemented and managed to meet regulatory compliance and Rogers best practice guidelines. This is a corporate role that will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving environmental, health and safety management systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Determines sampling strategy and conducts workplace monitoring to meet regulatory requirements/Rogers guidance, to help ensure Rogers’s employees work in a safe environment. Annual IH surveys to be conducted at all Rogers US and EU locations directly by this position. Includes equipment management, lab coordination, report writing and employee notifications.
  • Maintains relevant database systems including IH database, Incident database (EtQ Reliance), Excel incident tracking etc.
  • Takes part in Safety/Health audits conducted at all manufacturing locations as assigned.
  • Assesses new materials coming into the manufacturing environment to determine potential health threats and assures appropriate precautions are taken.
  • Maintains current understanding of material hazards, regulations and best practice. Develops and conducts training/mentoring of core IH principles to site EHS engineers and factory employees as necessary.
  • Works on EHS projects as assigned to include acquisition integration, safety and environmental program implementation.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health/Management, or an equivalent degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • 3-7 years’ experience in Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • Certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist may substitute for the required education and experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI and ACGIH standards
  • Professional written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to operate various industrial hygiene monitoring equipment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to scientific principles in all areas of work
  • Comfortable providing training for groups of employees and mentorship of IH compliance programs to EHS professionals
  • Analyze complex problems and develop solutions based on sound industrial hygiene principles.

  • Willingness to travel to locations worldwide, on an as-needed basis.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health/Management, or an equivalent degree in a related field from an accredited college or university (including coursework in Industrial Hygiene);
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Industrial Hygiene or related filed
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Expertise with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of ventilation systems
  • Capable of managing multiple projects
