Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for collaborating with the project team by understanding the customer’s application and technical requirements, as well as the industrial application and key needs.  This position is in charge of cultivating ideas to help customer yield higher performing product(s).

Essential Functions:

  • Review new opportunity technical documents (Application, Function performance, Reliability etc.) and communicate with customer's technical contact to fully understand the technical requirements of the new opportunity.  Support and collaborate with project team to complete technical feasibility studies
  • Determine initial cost and provide quote to customer
  • Design input review and handover.  Discuss how to achieve customer technical requirements and make the feasible detailed design for new opportunity
  • Design output---review and prepare final technical document (i.e. 3D and 2D drawingand submit to customer for approval
  • Solve prototype design issues
  • Lead team collaboration to develop new product or process to meet industrial or customer needs
  • Understand and apply industrial development technical trend and customer application and help production understand customer quality requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years relevant product experiences including process, manufacturing, design etc.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design systems
