Job Description: 


This role is responsible for the follow-up of customs requirements and permits, as well as administrative follow-up for a number of processes, such as Inward Processing (IPR).

Essential Functions:

Customs Related:

  • Responsible for maintaining the AEO certificate
  • Documenting and updating the necessary supporting documents (process descriptions, procedures)
  • Follow-up of inward processing shipments with a view to quarterly declarations
  • Submission of quarterly declarations Inward Processing via Machtelynck
  • Checks of import duty invoices
  • Determining, validating and checking tariff codes
  • Regularly carrying out spot checks in connection with .m correctness of customs documents
  • Applications for certificates of origin and determining whether goods fulfil the conditions of preferential origin
  • Proactively follow up on changes to customs legislation and requirements, as well as international trade agreements with an impact on our activities
  • Responsible for follow-up and applications for all necessary customs permits.
  • Informing stakeholders about customs formalities, special files, ...
  • Follow-up and closure of CAPAs and complaints linked to customs

Logistics Related:

  • Organizing container transports with export/import requirements
  • Maintain regular contact with logistics partners, internally and externally. Determine contractual SLAs and follow up on the services of the external transport companies
  • Internally, work according to the guidelines of Corporate Logistics and Trade Compliance
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the sector to ensure the best service to the customers
  • Follow up on transport-related complaints
  • Assist with ad-hoc special transport requests
  • Process invoices, at the request of different services
  • Act as first point of contact for our ERP system, mainly regarding transactions around logistics processes. Where possible, you solve problems yourself, or you escalate them further and follow up

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor with a minimum of 5 years of experience within customs.
  • Analytical/problem-solving,
  • Attention to details,
  • Action-oriented.
  • A team player who motivates people.
  • Can communicate fluently in Dutch, English and French.
  • Knowledge of customs formalities
  • Familiar with Office, Outlook, …
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Logistics Management with a minimum of 5 years of experience in customs.
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain Rogers policies, procedures and cultural behaviors as well as Customs regulations.
