Job Description: 

Summary:

This role is responsible for performing advanced cost accounting functions, analyzing complex manufacturing costs, and providing strategic insights to optimize operational efficiency and profitability. This role is critical in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, including material usage, labor expenses, overhead allocations, and variances.
  • Develop and implement cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely recording of costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and analyze data related to production volumes, cost drivers, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Perform cost modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of process changes, product modifications, or new initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and standards, providing cost-related insights and recommendations.
  • Conduct cost data and systems audits, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance and related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years cost accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and cost allocation methodologies
  • Advanced understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
