Job Description:
Summary:
This role assists and provides direction to the team to ensure achievement of daily safety, quality, productivity and inventory goals. This person must be a role model for safe behavior and must ensure team members are following safe work practices and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate 'start of shift' meetings and assign tasks throughout shift.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems on the production floor including but not limited to:
- Monitor and track quality issues and escalate to supervisor when necessary.
- Provide constructive feedback to associates regarding operational errors.
- Utilize effective conflict resolution skills to resolve production and/or personnel issues.
- Monitor and adjust labor utilization as necessary; coordinate efforts and resource allocation with other team leads/supervisors.
- Ensure quality management system training records are accurate; ensure controlled copies of work instructions are accurate and up to date.
- Facilitate cross-training throughout assigned department; conduct cross-training when needed.
- Monitor and track mechanical downtime, daily metrics, order processing and material availability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
- 6+ years manufacturing experience.
- Proficient quality management and enterprise resource planning systems experience.
- Must be capable of training, certifying and performing all positions within the department.
